My great-grandmother. Born Maria Catharina Lorenzen-Schmidt, married to Johann Boerensen. Her gravestone reads Catharina Boerensen, Apr. 28 1843 - Dec. 21, 1914. Thanks to my second cousin Lawrence Hughes for the photo.
